Jetour Dashing Officially Launched in Malaysia: C-Segment SUV Priced from RM109,800

Jetour Auto Malaysia has officially launched the much-anticipated Jetour Dashing, nearly a year after it was first previewed here in May 2024. Originally slated for release in the latter half of 2024 and later postponed to Q1 2025, the SUV is now available for purchase across Malaysia.

The Jetour Dashing will be initially sold in Malaysia as a fully-imported (CBU) model for the first 100 units. These vehicles, which arrived from China last month, will be delivered to customers immediately. However, local assembly (CKD) of the Dashing is set to begin next month at Berjaya Assembly’s Johor facility.

Variants and Pricing

The Dashing is available in two variants: Comfort and Prime. These names replace the earlier “Prime” and “Signature” labels introduced during the preview last year. The pricing for the Jetour Dashing variants is as follows:

  • Jetour Dashing 1.5 TCI Comfort: RM109,800
  • Jetour Dashing 1.5 TCI Prime: RM116,800

In celebration of the launch, Jetour Auto Malaysia is offering a limited-time early-bird rebate of RM2,000 for the first 500 customers. The Dashing also comes with a comprehensive 7-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, a 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty, and five complimentary service sessions for labor and parts.

Dimensions and Performance

The Jetour Dashing is a five-seat, C-segment SUV measuring 4,590 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, with a 2,720 mm wheelbase. It sits between the Honda CR-V (4,691 mm) and Toyota Corolla Cross (4,460 mm) in terms of size. The Dashing offers a ground clearance of 160 mm and a boot capacity of 486 liters with the rear seats up, expanding to 977 liters when the seats are folded down.

Powering the Dashing is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol engine that delivers 156 PS (154 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm and 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the front wheels. The SUV offers three driving modes: Economy, Comfort, and Sport.

Design and Features

The Dashing is built on Jetour’s Kunlun platform and boasts a modern design with LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and LED tail lights. The SUV also comes equipped with a powered tailgate, keyless entry and start, remote engine start, and leather upholstery. The local version features a unique dashboard design compared to the Chinese model.

Inside, the Dashing features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, offering an integrated widescreen display. The infotainment system supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while a 50W wireless charging pad and four USB ports are provided for convenience. A four-speaker audio system is standard across both variants.

Comfort and Safety Features

The base Comfort variant comes with a range of standard features, including:

  • Four airbags (driver/front passenger, front side)
  • Passive cruise control
  • Reverse camera
  • ABS, EBD, brake assist, ESC, and traction control

The Prime variant upgrades the Comfort with:

  • A four-way powered front passenger seat
  • Ambient lighting
  • A six-speaker audio system
  • Two additional airbags (front/rear curtain)

Safety and driver assistance features on the Prime include:

  • Lane change warning
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • 360-degree around-view monitor
  • 180-degree transparent underbody view

However, the Dashing does not include autonomous emergency braking.

Expansion and Future Models

The Jetour Dashing marks the brand’s first entry into the Malaysian market, but it won’t be the last. Jetour has already confirmed that it will introduce a seven-seater D-segment SUV, competing with models like the Proton X90 and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, in Q2 2025. Additionally, the off-road-ready T2 SUV is expected to arrive by Q3 2025.

Jetour Auto Malaysia also plans to expand its dealership network significantly, with more than 30 new 4S and 3S centers set to open in 2025, bringing the brand closer to customers in key locations like Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor, and East Malaysia.

With its competitive pricing, stylish design, and robust features, the Jetour Dashing is set to make waves in the Malaysian SUV market, offering a fresh option for buyers looking for a well-rounded, value-for-money vehicle.
