Xiaomi YU7 Officially Launched in China – Blending Raw Performance with Smart Technology

Xiaomi has officially pulled the covers off its second electric car, the Xiaomi YU7, marking a new chapter in the brand’s entry into the EV space. Released in China, the YU7 is available in three performance-packed variants – YU7, YU7 Pro, and the top-tier YU7 Max – with pricing starting from RMB 253,500 (about RM148,990).
Designed as a mid-to-large premium electric SUV, the YU7 brings together advanced performance engineering and a smart tech-rich driving experience. It’s underpinned by Xiaomi’s Modena 800V platform, offering lightning-fast charging and impressive efficiency. A quick 15-minute charge can restore up to 620 km of range, thanks to the high-rate 5.2C charging capability.

Performance Across the Board
- The base YU7 RWD variant comes with a single 320 hp motor, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 5.58 seconds, and delivering a massive 835 km range on a 96.3 kWh battery.
- The YU7 Pro boosts output to 496 hp with dual motors and cuts the sprint to just 4.27 seconds, while offering up to 770 km range.
- Sitting at the top, the YU7 Max delivers 690 hp, 866 Nm of torque, and a blazing-fast 0–100 km/h in 3.23 seconds, topping out at 253 km/h. It’s powered by a 101.7 kWh NMC battery and offers a range of 760 km.

Refined Dynamics and Premium Features
Underneath, the YU7 sports a dual-chamber air suspension system and advanced five-link rear architecture, offering dynamic ride control with a five-level height adjustment. Xiaomi also fits Brembo brakes, a 33.9-meter stopping distance from 100 km/h, and lightweight aluminum-steel hybrid construction reinforced with a high-strength integrated roll cage.
Inside, the cabin delivers a high-tech and luxurious feel. A 1.1-meter HyperVision screen spans the dashboard, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered infotainment system ensures fluid performance and seamless OTA updates. Xiaomi’s ecosystem is fully integrated, including Apple UWB digital key support and outside-vehicle voice assistant controls via Xiao Ai.
The seats are wrapped in Nappa leather, with zero-gravity positioning and massage functions up front, and reclining rear seats with their own 6.68-inch control panel. The experience is rounded out by a 25-speaker Dolby Atmos system, a built-in mini fridge, and class-leading cargo space – 678 liters in the boot, expandable to 1,758 liters.
Striking Design Meets Smart Engineering
The YU7’s styling is sleek and modern, carrying forward Xiaomi’s minimalist design philosophy. From its teardrop-shaped LED lights to its U-shaped smoked rear taillights, the car carries a futuristic yet assertive road presence. Multiple body color options – including bold shades like jade green and metallic titanium – give customers ample room to express their personality.

A Strong Step Forward for Xiaomi’s Automotive Vision
As Xiaomi expands its footprint in the EV market, the YU7 positions itself as a serious contender in the smart SUV segment. With its blend of extreme performance, extended range, elegant design, and deep tech integration, the YU7 showcases what happens when a consumer electronics giant redefines the automotive playbook.

The three variants are priced as follows in China:
