Malaysia Automotive Career and Vocational Expo (MACVEX) Successfully Connects Automotive Industry, Academia and Future Talents at UiTM Shah Alam
The Malaysia Automotive Career and Vocational Expo (MACVEX) successfully took place on 24 June 2026 (Wednesday) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, bringing together academia, industry leaders, and future automotive talents in a meaningful platform focused on career development, knowledge sharing, and industry engagement.
Organized by AsiaAuto Venture Sdn Bhd, MACVEX represents the evolution and rebranding of the previous Auto Academy Tour series, continuing its mission to bridge the gap between educational institutions and the automotive industry. The event aims to provide students with greater exposure to career pathways, technical development, and real-world opportunities within the rapidly evolving automotive sector.
The event received an overwhelming response, with almost 250 students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UiTM Shah Alam participating throughout the day. The strong participation reflected the growing interest among students towards exploring opportunities, gaining industry insights, and understanding the future direction of the automotive industry.
One of the key highlights of MACVEX was the career interview session booth, where students had the opportunity to engage directly with participating industry partners. Through these sessions, students were able to explore potential career opportunities, understand industry expectations, and gain valuable insights into the various roles available within the automotive ecosystem.
Beyond career engagement, MACVEX also featured interactive workshop sessions designed to provide participants with practical exposure and industry knowledge. These sessions allowed students to experience automotive-related learning beyond the classroom, strengthening their understanding of technical skills, tools, and current industry practices.
The event was further enhanced through the presence of various industry display booths, where automotive companies showcased their products, solutions, technologies, and expertise. The exhibition area became a platform for students to discover more about the latest developments in the automotive sector while fostering stronger connections between industry players and future professionals.
To create a more immersive automotive atmosphere, MACVEX also featured five modified vehicles under RollingSpeed. The showcase not only added excitement to the event but also highlighted automotive modification as a form of creativity, passion, and technical interest among students. Through this initiative, MACVEX encouraged students to explore the automotive hobby culture while appreciating the knowledge and skills behind vehicle customization.
Adding to the excitement of the event, industry partners also contributed more than 65 lucky draw prizes consisting of official merchandise, automotive products such as lubricants, and professional tool sets. The generous support demonstrated the strong commitment from industry players in creating a memorable experience while encouraging greater participation and engagement among students.
The collaboration between AsiaAuto Venture Sdn Bhd and UiTM Shah Alam continues to grow through the industry–academia partnership strengthened by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during MIAPEX 2025. This collaboration represents a continuous effort to support talent development, career opportunities, and knowledge exchange within the automotive industry.
