The Malaysian SUV market has no shortage of rugged, boxy contenders, but the Jetour T2 is proving it has what it takes to stand out.
Just a month after its official launch, Jetour Malaysia has confirmed that bookings for the T2 have already surpassed 4,089 units. While order books first opened back in November, the pace of demand remains impressive averaging around 25 bookings per day. In a segment shared with rivals like the GWM Tank 300 and emerging lifestyle SUVs such as the iCaur 03 and iCaur V23, that’s no small feat.
A Strong Value Proposition
Part of the T2’s appeal lies in its pricing strategy. Initially offered with a RM2,000 rebate for early adopters, the SUV is currently priced at RM155,669 (on-the-road, excluding insurance). The incentive has now been extended to the first 5,000 buyers, up from the original 3,000 units, keeping the model competitively positioned for a limited time.
Once the rebate threshold is reached, the price will revert to RM157,669.
Performance Meets Practicality
Under the bonnet, the Jetour T2 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 245 PS and 375 Nm of torque. This is paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, sending power to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive system.
This setup not only ensures confident on-road performance but also supports the SUV’s rugged positioning for light off-road adventures, something increasingly sought after by Malaysian buyers.
Feature-Rich Cabin Experience
Beyond performance, the T2 is packed with features that elevate its overall ownership experience.
Inside, drivers are greeted by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 15.6-inch infotainment display. Connectivity comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while a 12-speaker Sony sound system enhances in-cabin entertainment.
