MODENAS Launches Four New Models at Malaysia Auto Show 2025 – Malaysia’s First Electric Scooter Series Among Highlights of the Launch

MAEPS, Serdang | 8 May 2025 – Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad, has officially unveiled four new models across three distinct market segments at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025. This launch marks a significant milestone in MODENAS’ continued commitment to meeting the evolving needs of Malaysian riders.

The newly introduced models include Malaysia’s first MEV electric scooter series, the high-performance Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE, and the versatile and urban-ready Modenas Kymco DTX 250 scooter. With this, MODENAS aims to strengthen its position in the growing eco-friendly mobility segment while also catering to a wider range of riding lifestyles.

MODENAS Chief Executive Officer, Roslan Roskan, stated that this launch reflects the brand’s forward-thinking vision, particularly in promoting more environmentally conscious mobility solutions. He added that the company remains committed to addressing the preferences of Malaysian riders, and with the exciting MEV electric motorcycle series, MODENAS is confident it can meet the needs of riders from all backgrounds.


MEV-2 Electric Scooter: Efficient Urban Mobility

The MEV-2 is designed for modern urban living, combining style and practicality. It delivers a range of up to 107 km and a top speed of 80 km/h. Powered by a 4.0 kW motor (with a peak output of 5.1 kW), it uses ATL Lithium batteries (74V30Ah) with an option for dual battery installation. Key features include an on-board charger, telescopic front suspension, hydraulic disc brakes with CBS, and full LED lighting. The MEV-2 is priced from RM9,878, excluding insurance and road tax.


MEV-1 PRO and MEV-1 PRO SX: Extended Range and Rugged Performance

For those who travel further or demand more power, the MEV-1 PRO and MEV-1 PRO SX offer a longer range of up to 135 km and a higher top speed of 85 km/h. They are powered by a 4.3 kW motor (with a peak of 4.9 kW) and use ATL Lithium batteries (60V45Ah) with dual battery options. These models are equipped with an on-board charger, enhanced torque for stronger acceleration, telescopic front suspension, and hydraulic disc brakes with CBS. The starting price for the MEV-1 PRO series is RM13,470, excluding insurance and road tax.


Modenas KYMCO DTX 250: Stylish and Versatile City Scooter

The Modenas KYMCO DTX 250 is built for both city commuting and weekend adventures. It features a 246cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine, delivering 17.0 kW at 7500 rpm and 23.0 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. The scooter comes with a CVT automatic transmission and offers convenience with features such as keyless start, LED display, full LED lighting, and generous under-seat storage. It is priced at RM22,500, excluding insurance and road tax.


Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE: The Ultimate Sport Touring Machine

Crowning the launch is the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE, a high-performance sport-touring motorcycle. Equipped with a 998cc supercharged, liquid-cooled inline-four engine, it delivers an impressive 210 PS at 11,000 rpm and 137 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. Advanced features include Kawasaki’s proprietary supercharger technology and electronic systems such as KECS (Kawasaki Electronic Control Suspension), KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent Braking System), KCMF (Kawasaki Cornering Management Function), and KIPASS (Kawasaki Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System), along with high-performance Brembo brakes. The Ninja H2 SX SE is priced at RM129,400, excluding insurance and road tax.
