Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2025 Returns with Bigger Lineup and Affordable Access

KUALA LUMPUR, 8–10 August 2025 — The third edition of the Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur (TASKL25) is set to take place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), bringing with it an expanded lineup of Japanese automotive legends, rare builds, and enhanced accessibility for car enthusiasts of all ages.

This year’s event, organised by Element X Strategies, promises to deliver a more immersive experience while keeping ticket prices accessible. One-day admission is priced at RM48 for adults and RM30 for children aged 6–12. A family combo package (two adults and two children) is available at RM120, while solo adult visitors can opt for a three-day pass at the same price. Concession tickets are available at 50% off for OKU attendees — RM24 for adults and RM15 for children. Caretakers can accompany them for an additional fee.

Among the highlights of TASKL25 is the return of iconic figures from Japan’s tuning scene. Visitors can expect to meet Smokey Nagata of Top Secret, GT-R specialist Hiroshi Tamura, Liberty Walk’s Wataru Kato, Isami Amemiya of RE Amemiya, Takahiro Kataoka of Kuhl Racing, and J’S Racing president Hisaaki Murakami. Their presence underscores the event’s growing international reputation and its role in connecting Japan’s tuning elite with Southeast Asia’s passionate fanbase.

Headline exhibits include the Top Secret VR32 Stealth GT-R — a custom hybrid of the R32 Skyline with the powertrain of an R35 — as well as Liberty Walk’s modified Ferrari F40 and Super Silhouette ER3. Other standout builds include the Crewch Delusion GT-R R356C, RE Amemiya’s Matsukiyo Kizami 3Rotor NA-7, and the Aless Century Complete WL.

For the first time, TASKL25 will also spotlight the local scene with the introduction of Malaysia’s Finest Tuners (MFT) — a curated showcase of top homegrown tuning talent. Complementing this are an auto styling competition judged by Japanese tuning experts, car club gatherings, and a display of rare Malaysian collector cars.

Diecast collectors can look forward to the exclusive release of Toyota Supra Mk4 chase and super chase models. In collaboration with The Model Car Show Malaysia (TMCS), a dedicated “Mini TAS” zone will offer an extensive display and sale of diecast collectibles.

Themed zones such as Sakura Street and Midnight Tokyo will immerse visitors in stylized automotive subcultures, while entertainment features include stage performances, a cosplay-meets-car meet competition, and live demonstrations by Malaysian artist Zameer Pentbrush, supported by Castrol.

For motorsport enthusiasts, RaceRoom will host a two-hour endurance SIM racing challenge, and fans will have the opportunity to meet racing driver and Autobacs ambassador Zen Low. The event will also feature a lucky draw with a grand prize motorcycle, sponsored by EXN Lubricants.

According to Element X Strategies CEO Jason Yap, the return of such renowned Japanese personalities reflects Malaysia’s growing reputation within the global tuning community. “It’s always a challenge to bring in the most exciting builds and personalities from Japan. But their continued support and presence here show how impressed they are with Malaysia’s car culture,” he said.

With affordable pricing, global icons, and a comprehensive programme for all ages, TASKL25 is shaping up to be one of the year’s most significant automotive events in the region.
