Leapmotor C10 and B10 Now Locally Assembled in Malaysia – From RM118,800, New Colours and Optional Key Fob
Leapmotor is taking another significant step forward in the Malaysian market, with the C10 and B10 electric SUVs now locally assembled (CKD) at Stellantis’ Gurun plant in Kedah.
The move not only marks the expansion of Stellantis Malaysia’s local EV manufacturing operations, but also brings several updates to the two electric SUVs, including new colour choices for the C10, a simplified B10 variant lineup and an optional physical remote key fob that can also be purchased by existing owners.
With prices starting from RM118,800, the locally assembled Leapmotor range now offers Malaysian buyers another alternative in the increasingly competitive electric SUV market.
RM5.3 Million Investment to Support Local EV Production
Stellantis has invested EUR5.3 million (approximately RM25 million) in developing localised production capabilities for Leapmotor at its Gurun, Kedah facility.
The investment covers production line improvements and infrastructure upgrades required to support local assembly of the C10 and B10.
The Gurun facility was acquired by Stellantis from Naza in 2021, and its continued development is becoming increasingly important as the company expands its local manufacturing footprint.
According to Stellantis Malaysia, Leapmotor and Stellantis operate under a unified global compliance framework, with the same manufacturing standards applied to locally assembled vehicles.
This means the transition from completely built-up (CBU) imports to CKD production is not simply about local assembly, but also about establishing a stronger foundation for Leapmotor’s long-term presence in Malaysia.
Leapmotor C10 Gets New Colours and Retains 424 km WLTP Range
The Leapmotor C10 continues to serve as the larger D-segment electric SUV in the local lineup.
For its locally assembled version, the C10 is available with a 69.9 kWh battery pack paired with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 218 hp and 320 Nm.
The combination gives the C10 a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 424 km.
One of the most noticeable changes with the CKD model is the introduction of two new exterior colours.
The C10 can now be specified in:
- Violet
- Lightning White
- Canopy Grey
- Glazed Green
Interior colour combinations vary according to the exterior shade. The Glazed Green version comes with a Camel Brown interior, while the other exterior colours are paired with a Black interior.
Leapmotor also continues to highlight the C10’s focus on occupant comfort, with its upholstery certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and the use of baby-friendly silicone textile for the interior.
The locally assembled C10 is priced at RM125,000.
B10 Now Offered in a Single Design Variant
Meanwhile, the smaller Leapmotor B10 is now locally assembled alongside its larger sibling.
Unlike previously available configurations, the Malaysian B10 lineup has been simplified to a single Design variant.
Power comes from a 67.1 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor producing 218 PS and 240 Nm.
The B10 offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 434 km, giving it a slight advantage over the C10 in terms of quoted driving range despite its smaller overall footprint.
Four exterior colours are available:
- Starry Night Blue
- Tundra Grey
- Metallic Black
- Light White
Regardless of exterior colour, the B10 comes with a Dark Grey interior, which also features OEKO-TEX Standard 100-certified upholstery.
Priced at RM118,800, the B10 becomes the more affordable entry point into Leapmotor’s locally assembled EV lineup.
Physical Key Fob Finally Comes to Leapmotor
Perhaps one of the more interesting updates isn’t related to the cars’ batteries, motors or technology.
Leapmotor is now offering an optional physical Remote Key Fob for both the C10 and B10.
This is particularly noteworthy because Leapmotor’s existing keyless entry system relies heavily on digital access.
Owners can currently use their smartphone or key card to access the vehicle, with the key card requiring the user to tap the wing mirror.
The optional physical key fob provides a more familiar way of unlocking and accessing the vehicle, essentially bringing a traditional remote-key experience to Leapmotor’s EVs.
Better still, the accessory is not limited to new vehicles.
Existing C10 and B10 owners can also purchase the physical key fob, with customers advised to contact their authorised Leapmotor dealer for availability and pricing.
However, the key fob does not completely eliminate the existing starting procedure. The vehicle will still require the key card to be placed on the centre console or the appropriate PIN to start the vehicle.
For owners who prefer the convenience and familiarity of a conventional remote key, this could be one of the more welcome additions to the Leapmotor ownership experience.
Both Models Come With an Eight-Year Battery Warranty
Beyond the CKD transition, Leapmotor is also offering long-term battery coverage for both models.
The C10 and B10 come with an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first.
For the vehicle itself, the manufacturer’s warranty coverage consists of a four-year/100,000 km manufacturer warranty, together with an additional two-year/50,000 km full extended warranty.
This gives buyers additional reassurance when making the switch to an electric vehicle, particularly for customers who may still have concerns about long-term battery durability.
A Bigger Role for Leapmotor in Malaysia
The local assembly of the C10 and B10 comes at an important time for Leapmotor globally.
The company reported 103,129 vehicle deliveries worldwide in August 2026, marking its fifth consecutive month of record deliveries and an 80.72% year-on-year increase.
For the first eight months of 2026, Leapmotor reported total deliveries of 560,883 vehicles, representing a 70.55% year-on-year increase.
While global sales figures do not necessarily translate directly into Malaysian market performance, the continued expansion of the brand’s local manufacturing operations suggests that Leapmotor and Stellantis see Malaysia as an important part of their regional strategy.
Local assembly could also provide a stronger foundation for Leapmotor to expand its product range and compete more aggressively within Malaysia’s rapidly growing EV segment.

It is establishing a locally assembled EV lineup backed by Stellantis’ manufacturing infrastructure, while simultaneously adding practical ownership improvements such as the new physical remote key fob.
For Malaysian buyers considering an electric SUV below RM130,000, the question now becomes whether Leapmotor’s combination of range, equipment, pricing and local assembly can make it a serious alternative to the growing number of EVs competing in this segment.
