Perodua QV-E Gets Major Price Revision: Now From RM63,499 With Lower Battery Leasing Cost

Perodua has taken another major step forward in Malaysia’s electric vehicle (EV) journey by announcing a significant price revision for its first-ever EV, the Perodua QV-E.
Originally introduced in December 2025 with a starting price of RM80,000 (excluding battery ownership), the QV-E is now available at a much lower entry point following improved localisation efforts and enhanced production efficiency.
With the latest revision, Malaysians can now own the Perodua QV-E from RM63,499 under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, while customers who prefer full ownership of both the vehicle and battery can purchase it outright from RM87,499.
The revised pricing comes as Perodua continues to strengthen its local EV ecosystem by increasing domestic production capabilities and reducing reliance on external supply chains.
Lower Price, Lower Battery Subscription Fee

Under the updated BaaS programme, customers will now pay RM215 per month for the battery subscription over a nine-year period, compared to the previous RM275 monthly fee.
Before the latest adjustment, purchasing the QV-E through the BaaS option would cost:
• Vehicle price: RM80,000
• Battery subscription: RM275/month for nine years
This resulted in an estimated total ownership cost of RM109,700.
With the new pricing structure, the total cost becomes:
• Vehicle price: RM69,999
• Battery subscription: RM215/month for nine years
Bringing the total ownership cost down to approximately RM93,219.
For a limited time, Perodua is also offering a RM6,500 rebate until 30 September 2026, further reducing the price to RM63,499 with BaaS or RM87,499 for outright purchase.

Existing QV-E Owners Also Benefit
The price revision is not only for new buyers.
Existing QV-E customers under the BaaS programme will also enjoy the reduced RM215 monthly battery subscription fee starting from their next payment cycle.
Perodua has also announced that existing owners will receive a special refund, with further details to be communicated through their respective sales advisors.
Localisation Helps Perodua Reduce Costs
According to Perodua President and CEO Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, the price reduction was made possible through increased localisation and improved manufacturing efficiency.
Perodua and its local vendors have successfully increased the number of locally manufactured components, allowing the company to reduce dependency on overseas supply chains while improving parts availability for customers.
The company has also increased QV-E production capacity to more than 500 units per month, supporting stronger EV adoption in Malaysia.

Battery Ownership Option Now Available
Previously, customers could only purchase the QV-E through the BaaS model, where Perodua retains ownership of the battery.
With the latest update, buyers now have the choice to fully own the vehicle and battery together.
For outright purchase customers, the QV-E is priced at RM93,999 before the promotional rebate, or RM87,499 after the RM6,500 rebate.
The outright purchase option comes with an eight-year or 160,000km battery warranty, while BaaS customers continue to enjoy battery coverage with unlimited mileage during the leasing period.
Perodua also confirmed that a battery buy-back programme will be introduced in the future for customers who choose full battery ownership.
Performance and EV Technology
The Perodua QV-E is powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 204 PS and 285 Nm of torque.
It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, with a top speed of 165 km/h.

Power comes from a 52.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by CATL, offering a claimed WLTP range of up to 370 km.
For charging:
• DC fast charging: 30% to 80% in around 30 minutes
• AC home charging: Full charge in approximately eight hours

A More Accessible Future For Malaysian EV Buyers
The latest price revision positions the Perodua QV-E as a more attractive option for Malaysians considering their first EV.
With lower upfront costs, reduced battery subscription fees, improved localisation and a new outright ownership option, Perodua is making EV ownership more accessible while strengthening Malaysia’s local automotive capabilities.
As competition in the EV segment continues to grow, the QV-E’s new pricing strategy could become a significant milestone in accelerating EV adoption among Malaysian drivers.
