Jetour G700 Set for KLIMS 2026 Debut – Could This 904 PS Luxury Off-Roader Shake Up Malaysia’s Premium SUV Market?

The Malaysian SUV landscape could soon welcome a formidable new contender as Jetour Auto Malaysia has officially teased the arrival of the Jetour G700 ahead of the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2026).

Already making waves in China and attracting significant attention during its recent appearance at Auto Beijing 2026, the G700 represents Jetour’s most ambitious SUV yet. Combining luxury, electrified performance, advanced technology, and genuine off-road capability, the G700 is shaping up to be a serious rival to established models such as the GWM Tank 500.

Massive Presence with Rugged Luxury Appeal

The Jetour G700 is a full-size ladder-frame SUV measuring 5,198 mm in length, 2,050 mm in width, and 1,956 mm in height. Its imposing dimensions immediately place it among the largest SUVs in its segment, while its bold design language delivers a commanding road presence.

Designed to cater to both family-oriented buyers and adventure enthusiasts, the G700 is offered in six- and seven-seater configurations in China, providing generous cabin space for long-distance travel and daily practicality.

904 PS Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

What truly sets the G700 apart is its impressive electrified powertrain.

Under the hood is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine working alongside an advanced plug-in hybrid system. Together, the setup delivers a staggering 904 PS and 1,135 Nm of torque, enabling the large SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds.

These figures place the G700 among the most powerful SUVs expected to enter the Malaysian market, blending high-performance capabilities with improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.

Up to 1,100 KM of Real-World Hybrid Driving Range

Powering the electric side of the drivetrain is a 34.13 kWh CATL battery pack capable of delivering up to 150 km of pure electric driving under Chinese testing standards.

The battery supports ultra-fast DC charging of up to 170 kW, allowing a recharge from 30% to 80% in just 10 minutes. For outdoor enthusiasts, the G700 also features 6.6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling the SUV to power external appliances during camping trips or outdoor activities.

Jetour claims a combined driving range of up to 1,400 km on the CLTC cycle, which translates to approximately 1,100 km under the more realistic WLTP standard—making it one of the longest-range plug-in hybrid SUVs in its class.

Technology-Focused Cabin

Inside, the G700 showcases a futuristic cabin packed with premium features and digital displays.

A distinctive 35.4-inch panoramic display stretches across the base of the windscreen, complemented by a 15.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen. Rear passengers are treated to a fold-down 17.3-inch entertainment screen mounted between the front and rear sunroof sections, while climate settings can be controlled via a dedicated 8.8-inch rear touchscreen.

Comfort features include ventilated, heated and massage-equipped front seats, dual sunroofs, ambient lighting, and a premium Lexicon audio system with up to 18 speakers depending on variant.

Built for Adventure

Beyond luxury and technology, the G700 retains serious off-road credentials.

The SUV features a ladder-frame chassis, a wading depth of up to 970 mm, approach and departure angles of 40 and 32 degrees respectively, and the ability to tackle gradients of up to 45 degrees.

These specifications suggest the G700 is designed not only for urban comfort but also for challenging terrain and overlanding adventures.

Advanced Driver Assistance Features

Safety and driver assistance are handled by Jetour’s Falcon 500 intelligent driving system, offering features such as highway navigation assistance, semi-autonomous driving functions, and advanced parking assistance technologies.

This places the G700 in direct competition with premium SUVs that increasingly rely on intelligent mobility solutions to enhance safety and convenience.

What Could It Cost in Malaysia?

In China, the Jetour G700 is priced between 329,900 yuan and 384,900 yuan, equivalent to approximately RM191,000 to RM223,000.

However, considering taxes, localisation costs, and market positioning, industry observers expect Malaysian pricing to start from around RM250,000, potentially undercutting several established premium off-road SUVs while offering significantly higher power outputs and competitive technology features.

A New Challenger Worth Watching

With its combination of supercar-like performance, impressive driving range, premium cabin technology, and genuine off-road capability, the Jetour G700 could become one of the most talked-about vehicle launches at KLIMS 2026.
