Proton Delivers Custom X90 SUV to Tengku Laksamana Selangor

Proton has officially handed over a specially customised unit of its premium SUV, the X90, to YAM Tengku Sulaiman Shah Ibni Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the Tengku Laksamana of Selangor. This one-off vehicle stands out with its exclusive two-tone exterior and a series of bespoke enhancements, reflecting both elegance and individuality.

The exterior of the SUV features a dual-tone paint scheme, combining a distinctive silver finish on the roof and hood with Proton’s standard Cinnamon Brown on the remaining body panels. Enhancing its premium appearance, the X90 is also fitted with specially designed silver-finished alloy wheels and a prominent ‘Harimau Malaya’ emblem mounted on the hood. Surrounding the emblem is a custom “Proton X90 Special Edition” inscription, adding a unique identity to this edition.

Inside, the customisation continues with a red and white leather interior that wraps the entire cabin, paired with wood accents on the steering wheel for a refined look. Rear passengers are offered added comfort and convenience, thanks to foldable tray tables with integrated cup holders — a feature aligned with luxury travel standards.

This particular unit appears to be based on the X90 Flagship variant, Proton’s highest-spec model, which includes a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine producing 174 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. The engine is supported by a 48-volt mild hybrid system, marking the X90 as Proton’s first step into the new energy vehicle segment.

While the standard X90 Flagship is priced at RM152,900, the cost of this fully customised version is expected to be significantly higher due to its bespoke features and design elements.

Tengku Sulaiman Shah is no stranger to Proton’s lineup, with a growing collection of personalised Proton models under his name — including customised versions of the Perdana, X70, X50, Satria Neo, and the iconic Putra coupe. This custom X90 now adds another standout piece to his notable Proton garage.
