GWM Malaysia has announced the appointment of Roslan Abdullah as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective immediately. This appointment comes shortly after his departure from Proton, where he most recently held the role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Roslan brings nearly three decades of experience in the automotive industry, having served in various high-level positions across some of Malaysia’s most prominent automotive companies. He joined Proton on June 1, 2020, as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and CEO of Proton Edar, before being promoted to Deputy CEO in January 2022. Prior to that, he served as General Manager at DRB-Hicom from 2019 to 2020, and spent over six years at Honda Malaysia, eventually rising to the role of President and COO.
With a strong background spanning sales, operations, and finance, Roslan is now set to lead GWM Malaysia’s core operations, including sales, marketing, aftersales, and the expansion of the dealer network. His leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth and strengthening its position in the competitive Malaysian automotive market.
