Jetour VT9 Launches in Malaysia – A Stylish, Spacious 7-Seater SUV From RM119k

The Jetour VT9, a new seven-seater D-segment SUV, has made its debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025. This locally-assembled model is available in two variants: the Comfort, priced at RM119,350, and the Prime, priced at RM124,350. These prices are on-the-road before insurance for Peninsular Malaysia. As part of the launch promotion, the first 800 customers will receive a RM2,000 rebate.

Powering the Jetour VT9 is a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 156 PS and 230 Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. The SUV measures 4,724 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm and a ground clearance of 144 mm. These dimensions give it a solid and spacious presence on the road.

The Comfort variant of the VT9 offers a well-equipped package. It features full LED lighting, cruise control, and a 360-degree camera system along with a tyre pressure monitoring system. Inside the cabin, there is a D-shaped steering wheel that can be manually adjusted for both rake and reach, along with paddle shifters for added driving engagement. The SUV also includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a cooled storage box under the front armrest, a 50W wireless phone charger, and a powered tailgate. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/55 tyres and includes a six-way powered driver’s seat, four speakers, blue ambient lighting, and four airbags.

The Prime variant builds on this by adding more comfort and safety features. It comes with a panoramic sunroof and increases the total number of speakers to six. It also adds two more airbags, bringing the total to six. Advanced safety technologies such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane change warning, and door opening warning are also included. The Prime variant further enhances convenience with driver seat memory, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and front and rear door puddle lamps that project the Jetour logo onto the ground. However, neither variant includes auto emergency braking (AEB) or adaptive cruise control (ACC), which may be a consideration for buyers looking for more advanced driver assistance systems.

Inside, the Jetour VT9 is equipped with a modern twin-screen layout featuring dual 10.25-inch LCD displays and voice command capability. There are four USB-A ports in total, with two located in the front and two at the rear. Boot space is 89 litres when all seven seats are in use. If both the second and third-row seats are folded down, cargo space expands significantly to 1,680 litres, making it highly practical for larger families or weekend travel.

Every Jetour VT9 comes with a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an extended ten-year or one million kilometre engine warranty. Customers will also receive five free services, which include both labour and parts. The VT9 is available in five colour options: Star Black, Khaki White, Phantom Grey, Tech Grey, and Aurora Green.

Overall, the Jetour VT9 offers a strong value proposition in the Malaysian SUV market. With its combination of stylish design, spacious interior, modern technology, and long warranty coverage, it presents a compelling option for buyers looking for a capable seven-seater without breaking the bank. While it lacks a few high-end driver assistance features, the rest of the package is competitive, especially considering its starting price and equipment levels.
