The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line arrives in the UK with five variants, including ICE (Internal Combustion Engine).

It has become common for local automotive enthusiasts to be curious and wonder when an interesting model will officially be introduced. The same goes for us when we see this striking red Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line 2.0 TSI (third generation). Consumers in Britain can now enjoy this latest variant, which will officially go on sale on August 15.
Here are the specifications for the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line:
Powered by a 2.0 TSI engine with 262hp, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. This is the top variant, alongside the Tiguan R-Line eHybrid with 269hp, featuring a 1.5 TSI engine and a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Variants available in Britain include:
- Mild Hybrid (MHEV) 1.5 eTSI with 147hp, 7-speed DSG
- Turbo Diesel 2.0 TDI with 147hp, 7-speed DSG
- Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) 1.5 TSI eHybrid with 201hp, 6-speed DSG
- PHEV 1.5 TSI eHybrid with 269hp, 6-speed DSG
- Petrol 2.0 TSI with 262hp, 7-speed DSG

In addition to 4MOTION, the 2025 Tiguan R-Line comes with enhanced Adaptive Chassis Control System (ACCS) as standard. The system uses dual-valve absorbers similar to those used in motorsports. The DCC Pro and 4MOTION combination provides responsive and dynamic driving with excellent grip. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 241 km/h. The SUV also boasts a low drag coefficient of 0.28Cd and a boot capacity of 652 liters.
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line offerings in Britain are quite diverse, including a range of options without neglecting the single internal combustion engine (ICE) variant. If introduced locally, these models could potentially be adapted for the domestic market.

We are optimistic given that Volkswagen has consistently offered the Tiguan model over the past two generations, including the Tiguan Allspace R-Line 2.0 TSI 4Motion. Additionally, the second-generation Tiguan was assembled in Pekan, Pahang.
The Tiguan is Volkswagen’s best-selling model globally, with over 7.5 million units sold. It remains the most popular Volkswagen SUV to date. The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line 2.0 TSI is priced at £47,540 (RM271,450), including VAT.
