KLIA Transit Introduces Special Ramadan 2026 Timetable Until March 20
In conjunction with the Ramadan fasting month, KLIA Transit has implemented a revised train schedule effective immediately through March 20, 2026. The temporary adjustment is designed to better accommodate changing commuter patterns during the holy month, particularly for working professionals, airport staff, and travellers commuting between the city centre and Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The updated timetable affects services operating between KL Sentral, KLIA2, and Kuala Lumpur International Airport. While overall service frequency remains largely consistent with regular operations, peak-hour intervals have been strategically adjusted to reflect altered commuting trends during Ramadan.

Weekday Schedule Adjustments
From Monday to Friday, the first train from KL Sentral to KLIA2 departs at 5:03 am, ensuring early connectivity for airport workers and early-morning travellers.
During early morning hours between 5:03 am and 6:33 am, trains operate at 30-minute intervals. Frequency increases during the morning peak period from 6:33 am to 9:03 am, with trains arriving every 15 minutes to accommodate the heavier passenger flow heading toward the airport and transit hubs.
In the afternoon and evening, the second peak window runs from 4:03 pm to 8:03 pm, again with 15-minute intervals. Outside of these peak hours, trains generally operate at 30-minute intervals.
Late-night services between 11:00 pm and midnight see a slight frequency increase to 20-minute intervals, offering improved flexibility for late-arriving international flights and city-bound passengers.
Airport-to-City Services
For passengers travelling from KLIA2 toward KL Sentral, the first train departs at 5:18 am, while the final service leaves at 12:30 am.
Weekday morning peak frequency applies roughly between 6:18 am and 8:46 am, while the evening peak runs from approximately 4:18 pm to 7:46 pm. Similar to departures from KL Sentral, trains operate every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes during off-peak periods, with a modest increase in frequency late at night.
Weekends and Public Holidays
On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, KLIA Transit maintains a simplified schedule throughout Ramadan. Trains operate at approximately 30-minute intervals throughout the day, without distinct peak-hour frequency adjustments. The only exception remains the late-night window between 11:00 pm and midnight, when services run every 20 minutes.
This steady weekend schedule provides predictable travel planning for leisure travellers, families, and airport passengers during the fasting month.
Supporting Ramadan Travel Patterns
Ramadan traditionally brings shifts in daily routines across Malaysia, particularly in working hours and travel behaviour. Many offices adopt adjusted schedules, while airport traffic patterns may fluctuate due to increased domestic travel and Umrah transit passengers.
By refining peak-hour windows and ensuring sufficient service frequency, KLIA Transit aims to maintain efficient connectivity between Kuala Lumpur’s primary rail hub and the country’s main international gateway. The service remains one of the fastest and most reliable public transport options linking the capital to the airport, offering predictable journey times unaffected by road congestion.
For travellers, especially those catching early departures or returning late at night, the revised timetable provides added convenience and reliability throughout the fasting period.
Plan Ahead Before Travelling
Passengers are encouraged to review the updated Ramadan schedule in advance to better plan their journeys, particularly during peak periods. As always, travellers heading to the airport are advised to allocate sufficient time for check-in and security clearance.
The special Ramadan timetable will remain in effect until March 20, 2026, after which normal scheduling is expected to resume.
For frequent flyers, airport workers, and city commuters alike, the seasonal adjustment ensures continued smooth connectivity during one of Malaysia’s most significant annual observances.
