Peninsular Safari Challenge 2025 Roars into Putrajaya with 100 Participants and Exciting Truck Fiesta

PUTRAJAYA, August 16, 2025 – The Peninsular Safari Challenge: Truck Fiesta 2025 lit up Putrajaya from August 15–17, drawing crowds and adrenaline seekers as 100 participants competed across three thrilling categories – short wheelbase (30 entries), long wheelbase (40 entries), and the newly introduced pickup truck category (30 entries).

Organized by the Four Wheel Drive Association of Malaysia (FWDA), the event wasn’t just about the roar of engines and the mud-slinging action. A vibrant Food Fiesta ran alongside the competition, making it a family-friendly carnival and a celebration of the strong 4×4 community spirit.
Women and Families on the Track
This year’s edition made history as 10 women-led teams joined the challenge, with some even pairing mothers with their children as driver and co-driver. FWDA President Mohd Khairul Nizam Bin Ibrahim Khan praised the inclusivity, while TXV President, M. Nizam Bin Abdullah (TENGAS) highlighted the milestone as proof that 4×4 motorsport is open to all generations and backgrounds.
Government Recognition and Support
The event received official backing from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) through the Federal Territory Youth and Sports Department, reinforcing that 4×4 motorsport is among the 103 recognized sports under the Sports Development Act. This recognition paves the way for stronger government support and funding in the future.
Powered by Mitsubishi Motors
Adding to the excitement, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, together with Eon Auto Mart Sdn. Bhd., stepped up as official sponsors. Mitsubishi’s Chief Operating Officer, Ilham Bin Izzat, described the sponsorship as a commitment to strengthening the bond between Malaysia’s 4×4 clubs and the wider motorsport community.

Cash Prizes and High Stakes
Competitors battled not only for pride but also for attractive cash prizes:
- RM2,500 for champions
- RM1,500 for runners-up
- RM1,000 for third place in each zone
On top of that, every Special Stage (SS) offered bonus prizes of RM150, RM100, and RM50, keeping the competition fierce until the very last obstacle.
