KUALA LUMPUR, 9 August 2025 – The GAC Malaysia family just got bigger — and more stylish. The brand officially welcomed award-winning actor and beloved Malaysian figure Datuk Remy Ishak as its newest Brand Ambassador during the GAC & AION Showcase at 1 Utama Shopping Centre.
Remy’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for GAC Malaysia, with the brand gearing up for the arrival of the locally-assembled GAC EMKOO C-SUV and the fully-imported GAC M8 PHEV MPV. Known for his breakout role in the hit drama Nurkasih and his strong presence in the public eye, Remy brings a mix of charisma, credibility, and local connection that aligns perfectly with GAC’s vision.
He now joins Jack Lim, the brand’s first ambassador appointed in 2024, under the ONE GAC initiative. Together, the duo represents GAC Malaysia’s dual identity: bold, refined, and deeply connected to everyday drivers.
GAC Malaysia’s CEO, Mr. Tan Keng Meng, praised the contribution of both ambassadors, noting Jack Lim’s role in introducing GAC to new audiences and even traveling to China to witness GAC’s innovations firsthand. “We are equally thrilled to welcome Datuk Remy Ishak. His personality and influence resonate strongly with Malaysian consumers,” he said.
During the ceremony, Remy shared that while GAC is still a relatively young brand in Malaysia, its bold designs, advanced technology, and confident approach have already left a lasting impression on him. “I’m honoured to join a brand that dares to stand out and matches my lifestyle,” he added.
The event also marked the pre-sales campaign for two flagship models:
- GAC EMKOO – a futuristic SUV available in Premium (from RM120,000) and Premium Pro (from RM130,000) variants, both powered by a 1.5TGDI engine and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
- GAC M8 PHEV – a luxury MPV with a 2.0-litre turbo engine and plug-in hybrid system, offering a best-in-class 1,038km driving range. Priced from RM333,000 for the Premium and RM380,000 for the Luxury.
As a symbolic gesture, both Remy Ishak and Jack Lim received the keys to their very own GAC EMKOO, becoming among the first in Malaysia to own the model. Deliveries are expected by late September 2025.
