RON 97 Drops to RM3.17: Weekly Fuel Price Update (July 31 – August 6, 2025)

Malaysian motorists can breathe a little easier this week — especially those who pump RON 97 — as fuel prices get their weekly adjustment.

Starting midnight tonight, the price of RON 97 petrol drops by 4 sen to RM3.17 per litre, a slight but welcome relief from last week’s RM3.21. The drop follows global price movements and is part of the weekly fuel price mechanism introduced in 2019.

Meanwhile, RON 95 petrol stays put at RM2.05 per litre, continuing the government’s capped pricing policy since February 2021. Do note: the much-talked-about RM1.99/litre RON 95 price will only kick in when Malaysia’s fuel subsidy rationalisation plan begins, which is expected to roll out this September. Until then, the ceiling price holds.

As for diesel users, there’s no change this week:

  • RM2.91/litre for Euro 5 B10 and B20
  • RM3.11/litre for Euro 5 B7
  • Sabah, Sarawak & Labuan maintain a flat rate of RM2.15/litre

This marks the 31st fuel price announcement of 2025, and the 342nd overall since the weekly format began in early 2019.

Stay tuned for next week’s update — same time, same day. Until then, plan those fuel stops wisely.
